Managing Your Highlights
Highlights let you find all the important passages you marked while reading. You can browse them, search through them, and jump back to the original document.
What highlights are for
When you read a sermon, the Bible, or a personal document, you can highlight a passage to find it later.
All your highlights are then gathered in one place: the Highlights page.
This helps you:
- quickly find an important passage
- review your marked passages without searching through each document
- jump directly to the exact spot in your reading
Opening the highlights page
In the left menu, click Highlights.
The page shows all your highlights, from newest to oldest.
Show the list of highlights with colors, document titles, text snippets, and pagination.
What you see for each highlight
Each item in the list shows:
- the color you chose (a small colored dot)
- the document title where the passage is located
- the document type: sermon, Bible, or personal document
- a text snippet of the highlighted passage
- your comment, if you added one
Searching for a highlight
If you have many highlights, use the search bar at the top of the page.
The search looks through:
- the document title
- the highlighted text
- your comments
Simply type a keyword and the results update automatically.
Going back to the original document
Click on a highlight in the list.
The app opens the corresponding document directly:
- if it is a sermon, it opens in a tab
- if it is a Bible chapter, it opens in a tab
- if it is a personal document, it opens the same way
This is the fastest way to get back to a passage you had noticed.
Deleting a highlight
If you no longer need a highlight:
- find it in the list
- click the delete button on the right
- confirm
The passage stays in the document, but the color marking and comment are removed.
Page navigation
If you have many highlights, the list is divided into pages.
Use the navigation buttons at the bottom of the list to move between pages.
How to create a highlight
Highlights are created from the reading view, not from this page.
Here are the steps:
- open a sermon, a Bible chapter, or a personal document
- select the text you want to mark
- right-click
- choose
Highlight - choose a color
- add a comment if you wish
- save
The passage will then appear here, on the highlights page.
The full reading guide is in Using the reading view.
Show selected text with the right-click menu and the Highlight option.
Synchronization
If backup is enabled, your highlights are automatically synchronized between your devices.
A highlight created on one device appears on the others after the next sync.
Tips
- Use different colors to distinguish types of passages (for example, one color for promises, another for examples).
- Add a short comment to remind yourself why you kept that passage.
- Review your highlights regularly when preparing your messages.
